H.H. Pope Shenouda III sustained an injury today, breaking his femur (according to the AFP), June 10, 2008, and will be transported via Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s presidential jet to Cleveland, Ohio for treatment. All Ordinations for Pentecost 2008 have been postponed. Many bishops have canceled their flights to Egypt and are staying or coming to the States to visit His Holiness.

Let us all pray for the health and well being of our honored father, Pope Shenouda III. May the Lord grant him health and healing and may the Lord keep him for us for many more years and peaceful times. Amen. Amen. Amen.

June 11, 2008 – According to the Associated Press, H.H. has been flown to the United States after sustaining a fracture to his thigh bone.  H.H. will require surgery.  President Hosni Mubarak ordered his government to provide a special ambulance plane to fly the patriarch to the United States, reported the official MENA news agency. Bishop Ordinations Pentecost 2008

As it is known that the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles on the day of Pentecost, so also the Holy Spirit will descend upon two new successors of the apostles this year, two new bishops. H.H. Pope Shenouda III along with the Coptic Orthodox Holy Synod will be ordaining two bishops for the lands of immigration this Pentecost,Father Anastasi Saint Anthony June 15, 2008. H.H. will ordain:

Fr. Anastasi Saint Anthony as Bishop and Abbot of the Saint Anthony’s Monastery in the California Scete (Desert).

Fr. Shenouda El-Baramousy as a General Bishop in the Virginia area.
