Coptic Bishop Ordinations – June 9, 2019

The Vespers and Divine Liturgy in which there will be Bishop Enthronements and Ordinations officiated by H.H. Pope Tawadros II will take place in St. Mark Cathedral in Al Abassiya, Cairo, Egypt on June 9, 2019. The liturgy will begin at about 7:00AM Cairo Time.

H.H. Pope Tawadros II will elevate and enthrone the following fathers:

  1. H.G. Bishop Antonious Markos (Anthony Mark) as H.E. Metropolitan Antonious Markos of South Africa and all its vicinities.

H.H. Pope Tawadros II will ordain the following fathers as Bishops:

  1. H.G. Bishop Mettaous (Matthew), formerly Hegumen Fr. Mettaous El-Akhmimi, as Bishop & Abbot of St. Mary’s Monastery in the Eastern Mountain, Akhmim, Egypt.
  2. H.G. Bishop Theophilus, formerly Hegumen Fr. Mikhail El-Muharraqi, as Diocean Bishop of the Diocese of Manfalout, Assyout, Egypt.
  3. H.G. Bishop Elarion, formerly Hegumen Fr. Elarion El-Baramousi, as Diocean Bishop of the Diocese of the Red Sea Governorate, Egypt.
  4. H.G. Bishop Boulos (Paul), formerly Hegumen Fr. Boulos El-Baramousi, as Dioscean Bishop of the Diocese of Ottawa, Montreal & Eastern Canada.

  3. H.G. Bishop Mikhail, fromerly Fr. Boles El-Muharaqi as General Bishop to serve in the Cairo area.
  4. H.G. Bishop Basil, formerly Hegumen Fr. Bishoy Abba Moses, as General Bishop to serve in the Southern Diocese of the United States.
