Coptic Metropolitan Ordinations – February 28, 2016

The Divine Liturgy in which there will be Metropolitan Ordinations officiated by H.H. Pope Tawadros II will take place in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria, Egypt on February 28, 2016. The liturgy will begin at approximately 7:00AM Cairo Time.

H.H. Pope Tawadros II elevated many of our fathers the bishops to the rank of Metropolitan. He also ordained and elevated Fr. Theodore El-Antony as Metropolitan over the See and Diocese of the Holy City of Jerusalem. Their eminences where elevated as follows:

  1. H.E. Metropolitan Paphnotius, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Samalout and its vicinities
  2. H.E. Metropolitan Benjamin, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Menoufia and its vicinities
  3. H.E. Metropolitan Tadros, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Port Said and its vicinities
  4. H.E. Metropolitan Serapion, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Los Angeles, Hawaii, and its vicinities
  5. H.E. Metropolitan Kyrillos, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Milan, Italy and its vicinities
  6. H.E. Metropolitan Athanasius, Metropolitan of the Diocese of France and its vicinities
  7. H.E. Metropolitan Antonious, Metropolitan of the Holy See and Diocese of the Holy City of Jerusalem and its vicinities
